Vocational Training for Young Adults

At Caring Connections ABA, we offer Vocational Training through ABA Therapy to help young adults with autism and related developmental differences prepare for meaningful, independent employment.

What is Vocational Training with ABA? Vocational training uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to teach job-related skills in a structured, supportive way. We break down complex tasks into manageable steps and use evidence-based teaching strategies—like prompting, reinforcement, and task analysis—to help each individual build the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

Skills We Focus On: Our vocational programs are personalized to meet each individual's
strengths and goals. Areas of focus may include:

  • Job-Specific Skills (e.g., stocking shelves, clerical work, food prep)

  • Workplace Behavior (e.g., following instructions, asking for help)

  • Social and Communication Skills (e.g., interacting with coworkers, handling feedback)

  • Time Management & Organization (e.g., using checklists, meeting deadlines)

  • Interview Preparation and Job Readiness

  • On-Site Job Coaching and Community-Based Training

Real-World Practice Whenever possible, we provide real-world learning opportunities in local businesses or simulated work environments. This helps individuals generalize their skills and build confidence in real settings.

Who Is It For? Our vocational training is designed for teens and young adults, typically ages 14 and up, who are preparing to transition from school to work or independent living. Whether someone is seeking their first job or building toward long-term employment, we tailor support to meet them where they are.
